Every year at this time, the Help!ComeHome! Team is honored to join Pastor Scott Shelton and his loving wife, Gail, on a humanitarian mission to Costa Rica in Jesus’ Name.
This year, the needs of the communities here have been greater than ever..We are so humbled to be part of an effort that has assisted over 50 families and counting, including multigenerational households, babies, young children, and toddlers. It is an effort made possible by the faithful efforts of these 2 Pastors, who have, and continue to carry the banner of selfless LOVE of GOD in their hearts.
Scott wasn't sure if he could make the trip this year because of a severe stroke he suffered last December. He was barely able to talk at the time, but by God's Graces he is on his way to a full recovery. When the people here ,who just respect and hold him dear to heart saw him, they were just so grateful that the same God he spent years teaching them about, had pulled him through this fiery trial ! The hugs and reunions were full of joy!!
We are fortunate to be here, to experience the beauty of this people and culture, to witness the power of Love to transcend all barriers, and to make a difference in the lives of those who truly have nothing. Here are some memories from our journey so far, and it's not even over yet! Our next post will be a shout out to all of Team members who helped in this gracious cause!! Pura vida!;)
